i got a sandisk U3 micro cruzer. the U3 feature is quite cool. u can carry around softwares, games and stuff. i even carry around avast anti-virus which is gud to scan infected comps since the anti-virus on infected comps often gets modified. however, softwares eat into ur pen drive space so u should take a high capacity drive if u plan to carry lots of sw

Hmm by the v30 not being fast what is actually meant is not that it is USB 1.1 (yes v30 is USB 2.0) but just that the write speed into the drive is only 25% of the same compared to the hi-speed ones from transcend.... The read speed is around 80 - 90 % of the hi-speed ones from transcend.... Believe me, the hi-speed Transcend pen drives are pretty good but I own only a 1 GB drive

I wonder why no one suggests for an external HDD. one of my friend bought an 80GB HDD with case in about 2500 if i remember correct. I too bought a transcend 2GB PenDrive about 3 months back but now I am planning to go for an external HDD as there is no comparison. Also the external HDD can act as a shared HDD between 2 computers using USB. KOOOOOL !!!

^^ Recently I saw one of my friend using an external HDD which had 2 USB interfaces. I asked for the details and he demonstrated how it can be used as a shared disk between two computers. Its pretty helpful in synchronizing your laptop and PC.

^^^ i think he din say about 2 connectors. he said about 2 interfaces. me too.. i'm yet to see something like that! there should surely be a master-slave feature or something similar. otherwise it lead to utter chaos when doing some file operation simultaneously.

USB connectors do communication and power supply together. I havent heard of any device which has two USB connectors being separately for data and power.
