Thumbs down Lost Phone Memory after Updating...Why???

Recently I updated my N70 firmware to 5.705.3.0.1 via NSU.My phone works fine but whn I checked d phone memory,it's only 14MB left since it's 19MB free b4 updating process Where is my 5MB space Anyone tell me how to re-gain it,as less phone memory effects phone's performance THANKS for ur replies

^^^ u cant regain the 5mb u've lost.cuz the new firmware was bigger in size by 5MB as compared to ur prev version.so it took 5MB more.

yep.. U cant recover that space.. It is used by the new firmware..

So it means one should now avoid upgrading fw to prevent phone memory I wonder why did I do this

its not like that.. Generally the os files get stored in the flash rom of the fone only ie z/ but in this case if some extra space is needed then c/ space is occupied..

But one of my frnd recommend me to format d phone after updating fw...Is it safe n can I re-gain d space filled

Neither will you get your memory back nor should you do a format. Also you should always update to a new firmware whenever its available. Also if you have a memory card you should not worry much about your phone memory if its only got reduced by 5mb. Your ram is still unaffected and thats what matters in a smartphone most.

Hey I got it back Buddy This is how I did it - I follow '3 key FORMAT' procedure n now my phone memory is 5MB free n my phone is much FASTER than earlier times So now it is must u have to FULL FORMAT ur phone after upgrading ur Firmware But rest assured u must backup ur phone memory before this
