Need a 35K Lappi : Max battery backup reqd
Hi
I need suggestions to buy a lappi . Following qualities I want
1. Max Budget : 35 K
2. Min RAM : 256 MB
3. AMD Turion or Intel ? Which is better ?
4. 15" screen (need not be widescreen)
5. Good battery backup ...(most Important)
Please suggest brands other than Acer.

compaq would be the best choice.. the basic price would be 29,999 even if u include VAT and installation and handling charges would be under 35k

For Exactly 35K Rs.... U can get the following configuration in Dell:
AMD Turion X2 TL50
15.4"
512MB RAM
80GB
DVD Combo
Wifi/LAN/Modem
9Cell battery!
1Yr Onsite Warranty..
DOS

I think this AMD Turion X2 is better than Intel Celeron or Pentium!!!
As ur Battery back up is most important...
Go for 9 cell battery pack watever brand u go...!

For good battery back up time choose Intel Core based laptops from HP Pavilion. AMD Turion based laptops don't offer good battery backup time.

First thing u have to customize ur config...
Then Ask them for Quotation...
Then u have to take dd/cheque n courier them... or Pay by credit card too
They will take ur order... Thats all
But delivery tme is painful 12-16 days!!!

Dell 1501 with bag is costing me 37700/- ..but i have one doubt sales manager is asking for my credit card no ..isnt there any online form from which i shud order ? why i shud give my CC no ? isnt it unsafe ?

Sign a check of the said amount. Give them the Chq, no, fax them over the chq and signed quotation. That should place the order. A Citibank representative will collect the cheque within 2 days. This should be the other way out.

ya but the offer of DVD writer stands upto tomorrow only...and even chq realisation takes two days ...anyways i was asking all this for a frnd..now he has cancelled the deal....

i talked to their sales manager and he said we take all CC details and they become *********** in our system..how foolish....
dell shud develop an online purchase system like etickets of airlines do ......
when i said this to him..he said dell is coming slowly in India..its been only 1 yr...so they are taking time ..WTH one yr and u cant develop an online purachse system
thats y due to all these hassles ..my frnd cancelled the deal........he said better buy compaq at a store ...then do all these hassles ...
