Is pod working properly ,try some other USB port ,see that the cord is properly put into the usb port ,try connecting the pod to one of your friends pc.

Do you have iTunes installed??
If you do then you won't see it as a removable drive. To use your iPod as a removable drive select your iPod in iTunes and select 'Enable Disk Use' in the 'Summary' tab. You will get a warning message. Click Ok and then click Apply.
Your iPod should show up as a removable drive now.

P.S. - Remember to 'Safely Remove Hardware' by clicking the icon in the system tray everytime you want to remove your iPod. Also avoid using iPod as a removable disk (i.e. - do not read or write it) iTunes is synching with it.
