Default has anyone tried?

Has anyone tried updating his SE w810i software through the update service via PC. I am wondering if it's safe completely(no risk of any damage to the phone). help...

downloaded the following pdf file from se's web site and it states a very awkward way of installing drivers for usb flash cable. did you also followed the same written in this pdf file regarding installation of usb flash drivers.

you hafta turn the phone off, remove the sim and memory card and press and hold C button and plug in the usb connector. the phone now works in flash mode and u can install the drivers and continue wid the flashing. u hafta follow similar procedure to update the firmware too.

yup.. tried n fiddled a lot with my new 810i.. and yes.. its completely safe.. make sure u backup ur settings, contacts,nmessages etc. before you do!
