Clear my doubts please... need help in selecting the better one out...

Nice desktop replacment needed...
Play games & do multimedia processing with equal ease. Vista Aero capable.

17", nice display, more goodies, longer running time without heating, more ram/HD if possible... more thump... cute... well, u get the picture... the better one.. in average(performance+features)

Hp... Dell...

If looks matter, go for the Dell.

If they don't, HP is the way to go. The best bang for the buck.

hehe. my thought is even looks vise HP dv9010tx is better. It's desktop like keyboard is lot better than dell's keyboard. Personally, I don't like Dell keyboard.

nope man.. U dont need a dx10 4 aero.. Even nvidia 6150+ nforce 430 supports aero.. So obviously a go 7600 will.

I have AMD 3000+ single core 64 bit CPU (running at 2.4GHz) and onboard graphics "Nvidia 6100 + nforce 430" and Vista runs without a hiccup. I even played NFS Carbon in Vista (though at lowest Display Settings) and I enjoyed it

If you need a pure gaming lappy, best choice is Dell XPS series.

Dell has awesome and almost unbelievable service. They go totally out of way to help and satisfy the customer. Have recieved my new replacement Laptop battery today worth 6000 after using it for an year though i dont even qualify for warranty here in india and international warranty cost a lot extra, still !

The greatest thing, i complained to them yesterday at 4.00 p.m and today at 12.10 p.m my replacement was on my door!!!

What more can u ask on service front, a world different than the crappy services of Toshiba, HP, Compaq, LG etc.

And its not the first time i've witnessed such an ultra level of service, earlier too i got my DVD writer replaced and had heavenly experience

And mind u, both the parts developed faults due to my mistake

hey guys

i BOUGHT dv9222tx for 67000 on 19th april.

in comparison to dv9010tx the difference is that 9010tx has 1.8ghz cpu and windows xp MCE, while 9222tx has 1.6ghz t5200 and vista home premium (me formatted my vista given by hp and installed vista home premium again grom gx saurav's dvd and my oem serial activated on phone)

see this (stuff woth 88000 bought since may 2006 to april 2007)

rest is all same. even looks and grpahics card. and 160gb hdd.

playing NFS MOWA with full detail on reso 1440x990 and completed age of empires 3 + expansion with all eye candy smoothly. and battle 2142 demo on net too.

it has full keyboard and looks are awesome. fell in love first time i saw it.

BUT GETS VERY HOT. idle temp(net surfing, etc.) is 56-60 deg. on speedfan, so bought vantec lapcool3 which keeps temp to max 56 degree while gaming and idly 45-50 degrees.

1+ for HP

if u r getting 7900gs with dell then go for dell. else stay with hp. nothing below 7600 shud do. and vista with 1GB RAM IS SMOOOOTH

COMPLETELY MOVED TO VISTA

if u want long battery life u should look at intel core2duo U7200,u7400 etc...they r low voltage series..

vista with 1gb ram is smooth but if u multitask...which we all do u need 2 gb

Yes 1 GB doesnt seems to be sufficient in Vista as it always occupies 49-67% of memory so very little memory is left free for other tasks. I mi8 go in for a 2 GB ram upgrd as soon as my pockets are deep enough

opera with about 20 pages open with gtalk, wmp11, yahoo msngr, utorrent, sidebar, couple of pdfs open, ms word 07 and manny more and have left 20% ram free

and while gaming have opera, gtalk, yahoo msngr and utorrent open in the bg with utorrent dling. and still the game like age of empires 3 or nfs mowa is running smoothly at very high setting

at startup 56% ram is used.

One more deciding factor doubt...

Can I get a direct comparison between NVIDIA GeForce Go 7600, ATI Mobility Raedon x1400 256MB Hypermemory or NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GS?
In performance & cost...
Is it worth puttin an xtra 9000/- rs for a GeForce 7900 than a ATI x1400? (In the DELL)
Is the x1400 better than NVidia GEForce 7600? (as in comparin DELL 9400 & HP dv9010TX)

NO.

in short
performance and cost in ascending order

x1400(turbo chache/hypermemory=SHARED MEMORY) bad
x1600=7600go(256 mb dedicated)
7900 gs go(faster speeds, may be more ram, more pipelins and vertex shaders and memory bandwidth)
