Default SMS Backup, is it possible?


I have a Sony Ericsson Z550i, I wanted to know that is it possible to take a backup of all the sms's thats in my inbox? I have a 512 MB M2 Card, are the sms's stored onto it?

not sure of sony but nokia has back up in its pc suite so check its pc suite too....

how can u take a backup in phone? u can always save the sms' to the sim tho.

also FMA will work with most nokia phones too!

Install Mobile Edit. If you have got a data cable, then connect it as usual. Allow the software to detect the phone. Once detected, it will automatically backup all your contacts, SMS and Call Registers. You can save this backup as a file, or you can export the messages or contacts.
Even if your phone isn't listed on their site, the software will still be able to detect your phone. Its worth a try...

Use Mobtime Cell Phone Manager. This is not free.

^^ That means I will have to buy a data cable now. Isn't their a way by which, the inbox could be saved on to the memory card and then copied on to tha PC through a card reader.

Just download myphoneexplorer, then go to Extras menu -> Create backup & backup your whole phone including the SMS, after that just restore them. I did the same while migrating from K700i to K750i
