N70 not connecting to computer

I've got a nokia N70 and yesterday the PC suite said that a new version of the suite was available..So i updated to the new version.But when i tried to install it, i got an error saying that one of the installation files was corrupted.I then reinstalled the older version using the CD.But the problem is, the phone isnt connecting to the PC anymore.When i click on "get connected",it doesnt go beyond the "attach your phone to the computer" screen.I tried reinstalling PC suite again, but that didnt help.Any idea whats wrong?
And yes..while installing pc suite, the phone was not connected to the computer..
update:
i downloaded the latest version of pc suite again...and now when i click on "get connected", it says "there is no available connection type and therefore connection to phone cannot be established"..what the heck am i supposed to do now??

do install ur pc suite over the older version...
remove the pc suite and make a clean install...

i have n70 also .....i had also simmilar problem.....first uninstall previous version...clean all temp data using ccleaner , restart and now install newer version......this should work as it did to me.....

same happened to me as well whn i tried using d data cable .. then i changed to bluetooth n everything was fine .

nope.. bt wanted to knw if d speed of data transfer is faster through data cable (i guess it is ).

i downloaded n installed a data cable driver from d nokia support site .. didnt try after tht .hpe it will work nw .

yes dude definitely data transfer rate is more through data cable compared to bluetooth.........right now m using 6.82.22.0 version of nokia pc suite

hey .. my cell gt detected (through data cable ) automatically after i installed d driver .

i downloaded it frm d nokia site bt dnt knw d exact link .
