Microphone

Hi,
I have the standard coil microphone which is normally used in functions, schools, assemblies, etc. My dad says, the microphone which we buy for our computers, is from China, of low quality and fragile. He says if we connect our standard coil mic to the sound card using the stereo pin, will it work? My DAD IS AN ELECTRONIC ENGINEER.

And for ur query..
All the china made products are not low quality.Even intel MB,processor and some good products are made in china only which are ship to India.
But yeah,the local maker of china may have low quality products.

And please cleasr ur last two lines..I m not getting exactly.

If the coil one has std 3.5mm jack, then just connect and try urself. There is no harm for mic or PC. As bout mic, the mic which comes with Altec Lansing Headphones priced at 600 is very good. Its voice quality is at par with coil type.
It has noise cancelling technology nd is very good for speech, but it cancells out sounds from some distance.

i already have our standard DYNAMIC MIC. I just wanted to knw that will it work or not. Also it will reduce me the cost of buying it.
