n70 message length

in my n70 i can write only 160 characters in my message and if i exceed that limit it sends 2 messages. why is it so when most of the models allow around 400 characters? can i fix this problem? i find this length really really short and would appreciate if u could help me.

160 is the normal msg length in all indian ntwks... Higher than that and it sends more msgs.. It doesnt depend on cells.. Some cells seem to support abt 450 char but ur charged the same

It is not a limit by N70, but by service providers! Even if other handsets don't give you warning, they send more messages depending on the length of message

Yes exactly....160 characters is the length you will be charged as 1 msg cost and above that it depends on how long msg you send...

i send upto 28msg lenghts at one go(eg lyrics) ,, but u gotta hav ur sms free
160 char =1 sms
1 pic sms= 3 sms
