Default Help in shorlisting a camcorder.

Hi,
After doing some R&D on camcorders I have shortlisted the following camcorders:
Panasonic NV GS27 DV Cam
Canon MV960 DV Cam
Sony DCR-HC26 DV Cam
Canon MV 920 DV Cam
Can ppl post experiences about the same and help me in chosing the best of these camcorders?
Also can someone point out why can't a digicam with high resolution be used for video recording and why is a camcorder preferred over digicam for video recording?
Thanks.

digicam does not give the quality that the camcorder gives you

guys i m stuck in case of camcorder, after searching sony models, i ve narrowed my choices to 2 models, plz help me select one. BOTH r same price
SONY HC 96
+ built in flash
+ 3 MP DV

SONNY DVD 755
+ 5.1 surround sound with mic
+ DVD compatible recording

My dilemma is that shud i go for surround sound or flash??
Also plz tell me is recording directly to DVD is better??
HDD models are out of my budget, so will mini DV suffice

I have gone for Sony DCR-HC96E as it had flash, which would help me in getting good snaps.
Also DVD as a recording media is more costly than MiniDV.you get a single MiniDV cassette for 130 as against a DVD disk which is around 500 rupees.
Also I did not find recording sound of home videos in surround sound so cool.As it would hardly matter.
Also what prices are they quoting for both the models?

IN surat, both are quoted at Rs 28,990. I would have loved to go for HC-96 E but it is unavailable in Surat for atleast 1 month ( I checked with 3 dealers). CAn any other model will give me flash at same price??
