Want to store messages in memory card or phone memory(Motorazr V3i)

hey all...
i own a motorazr v3i...
i use the 256 mb mem card that comes with it...
the thing is that i can store very less messages-about 69 even when i hv a lot of free space in the phone memory and the memory card...

what i can guess is that the message memory is reserved differently, which i dont want.
i want the messages to be stored in my phone memory or memory card...
how can i do that?

i dont think you can alter the memory allotted for messages as it is restricted in the firmware itself....
