(1) The initial impact which this phone had on me was by its highly attractive packaging and by its looks. The Precious black model is tremendously enchanting when compared to its worst looking white counterpart. The default orange white theme with its black background can kill any man with its looks. (2) The Second factor which amazed me was its excellent Signal reception capability. The room in which I live is a bit closed and oddly placed w.r.t the nearby signal transmission towers. SO my both initial phones showed low to medium signal strength in my room with its windows and doors closed. Now this W850 with even low battery charge showed full tower strength in these odd conditions. The Signal reception is crystal clear without even trace of mic feedbacks though the earpiece vol. seems a tad low to me. (3) The Walkman Player 2.0 is brilliant with very easy and convenient controls is a main feature of this phone. During playback this phone emits a brilliant orange glow underneath its upper keypad. The Player displays the song's title, artist and album with a visualization capable of displaying the album art. The sound quality is simply tremendous. The bundled earbuds are good but very thin. I am using my Sennheiser earphones and the sound clarity and quality simply rocks. To me its much much better than even my IPod Nano. (4) I have heard many people have had complaints with W810's Volume. But the max volume in W850 is very loud in both speaker and Earphone mode. The speaker is so loud at full volume that even I can hear the sound even when I am outside my house (provided the background is not too noisy) (5)The phone bundles a 1 GB MS ProDuo card and that is currently enough for me. But I'll soon get a 4 GB from US and permanatly dump my IPod Nano. (6) The Menu interface looks and feels like its flash based and its so light and aesthetic that one will easily accustom to it. The Menu response is fast and sleek and the themes that are bundled with the phone will appeal to any type of users. To me the default orange-white theme was the best. (7) The Slider mechanism is very good and smooth and shudn't be a problem. The display is quite large and crisp with crystal clear view. (8)The downpoints in this phone are its camera and quite difficult controls. The 2 MP camera is not as good as W810 and produces not so good images at full resolution. If and only If the camera was a Cybershot the phone would have been perfect :sighs: The following pic was taken at full MP and fine quality at default mode. ![]() (9)The phone has 4 way Navigations buttons instead of the usual joystick. These buttons are small and is difficult to operate at some times. This can be quite a problem for some people. (10)Overall this is an EXCELLENT WALKMAN Phone and to say the least I am completely satisfied by it except for the Camera.
