edge\gprs what to do???

i hav 6630..it has edge+3g.....i hav prepaid airtel connection.....i live in punjab...i checked wid the customer care it says edge is only available in chndigrh & ludhiana and dat even jst on postpaid wid monthly rental of 999...
so i want to know if any other mobile operator(hutch,bsnl,etc) provides wide edge coverage on prepaid connections??
plz tel me

Dude i use Airtel Mobile Office and my hanset is N6630.I get cool download speeds of 20 - 30 KB/s thru DAP and dat too @ Rs249/month.I dunno whether Airtel has activated EDGE here or not but u cud give it a try.

wat is airtel mobile office??? a software or a service??? how to get it...??
and DAP stands for download accelerator plus? also gprs supports 32-48kbits ps??? i.e 4-6 kBytes ps.,,,,so how come u get 20KB ps??

Told u i dunno whether Airtel has activated EDGE here or not.Yeah dap = Download Accelerator Plus(Using premium version).Mobile Office is the name of the Airtel gprs service.I get normaldwnload speeds of 18 -25 KB/s and after 12AM its between 20 - 30 KB/s.

In Delhi I get 7-12KBps only at max... Airtel, Customer care say .. they have edge installed.
