Z550i Mobile Software

hi,

As i have contacted previously, based on your suggestions,i have taken sony ericsson z550i and memory card 256MB(costly i felt).Can i get the sites where i can get any antivirus, dictionary software for this mobile.

you don't need antivirus for this phone. get all the apps at www.getjar.com and media content (wallpapers, themes, ringers, software etc etc) at www.lasyk.net

There are no viruses for this phone so there is no ant-virus. There do exist OS's in this world which don't require anti-virus.
You'd require anti-virus if the phone had Symbian OS, but it doesn't so no need to have an anti-virus.

can i get info. about can we lock keypad, sms memory details like in other normal phones,where can i get dictionary software for this mobile.

What types of video files does this support.where can i get any best converters to copy video songs from PC to my cell.

I have installed opera,gmail client softwares on my mobile. Now when i am trying to download dictionary,GPS softwares from www.getjar.com it is saying
" browser might exit, next page it is seems to start, it is saying access denied" when refresh is done also same status

Use it to manage your phone from PC, it can be connected via bluetooth or cable. You can see the SMS memory status and other things from it.

Lock Keypad - Almost all SE phones use '*' followed by 'Right Softkey' (Atleast my W800 does)

Video files supported : MP4, 3gp (I may use QuickTime Pro to convert files to 3gp, 15 fps)

Also if you have bluetooth on your PC with HID service, you can control your PC from mobile with 'Remote Control' feature.

yes this phone has bluetooth hid support. i'd say use nero recode 2 to encode the video files to mp4 format. an avg. 5 min song will be around 5mb. but great quality!

can any one tell me about which operating system this mobile holds.

yesterday i installed gmail client,opera in my phone.next when i tried to install dictionary,GPS,.. softwares ,"it said browser will close to start download, next it said ACCESS DENIED." what should i do.

this phone has a Sony Ericsson proprietary OS. Developers have access to its Java part only and hence, there are only java based games/applications for this. You can only install java files which have extensions .jar or .jad

You cannot install Symbian files on this phone. These have extensions .sis

Since we are on the topic of java apps, are there any emulators made in java that will work on W700i. To be more specific I am looking for some replacement for vNes on my 3230 cos my sister likes to play some games in that emulator.
