Looking for a cell phone withing Rs. 12K. SE w300i, Moto RAZR V3i or any other phone

Hi friends my sister wants to buy a new cell phone.
It should be within 12K range. 12.5K is the maximum. I am not sure if I can go above that.
Phone that we've short listed are

• Sony Ericsson W300i
• Moto RAZR V3i Pink
• Sony Ericsson W700i, to the subject of dad's approval

The features that she's looking out for are

• Preferably Flap Phone
• Good Battery Life
• Best Sound Quality possible. It should have stereo speakers.
• Expanable Memory or atleast 256MB
• Bluetooth cos it's more preferable in linux over USB based data cable
• Camera quality need not be great.
• Ringtones should be MP3 and AAC, preferably also it should play videos. I guess it should be available in all phones in this range.
• GRPS/EDGE/3G don't matter much cos she won't be using them.
• Symbain/Non-Symbian both will be equally good as she doesn't need to install softwares on it.

SE w300i is the phone u are looking for.. even i'm thinking of buying one

Among the phones that you've shortlisted, W300i is what I would recommend for a girl. It has superb looks, is a clamshell, offers excellent audio quality and supports external memory. However, the screen is very small with a really low resolution and it does not feature stereo speakers.
I would strongly recommend Sony Ericsson W550i WALKMAN PHONE. It does not have support for external memory but has 256 MB of onboard memory, is the loudest mobile in the market, offers top notch audio quality, has dual stereo speakers and looks very cool.

W700i is a value for money product that excels in every field. It has a brilliant camera and superb audio quality. However, it isn't as flashy as W300i or unique as W550i. It is a plain candybar model. If you are looking for maximum bang for the buck, however, this is a strong contender.

The phone is indeed plagued with joystick problems. There have been numerous complaints that the joystick malfunctions after being used over an extended period - say, about a year. Apart from that, it is not riddled with any problem at all.

Yes It has a problem. A quite severe one.
You get addicted to it.Apart from it no prob.I never heard or faced Joystick prob.Maybe some set have it, I am not denying it.

OK got a SE W700i after spending 3 hrs pondering over 3 phones - SE w700i, SE w500i and Moto Razr V3i.
Well here's the -ve's and positives of the phones as per my sister. You'll are free to comment on it so it can help others in the future. But, if there is flaming/fighting I will lock the thread

Moto Razr V3i

+ve's

• Good looks
• Light in weight
• Decent sound quality. stereo speakers
• Camera is better than my current nokia 3230
• Expandable memory

-ve's

• Too delicate
• Flap phones are a bit of question mark as to how lonw will they last
• Music quality not upto the mark
• Shots in night mode didn't look good
• No FM
• Bundled Headphones not in the same quality as SE

SE W300i

+ve's

• Looks good
• Flap phone
• Good battery life
• Expandable Memory
• Small and light
• It has FM

-ve's

• Mono Speakers so sound quality didn't match up with other walkman phones
• Again doubts over longetivity of flap phones
• Screen is very bad
• Camera only VGA so not upto the mark

SE W550i

+ve's

• Good looking
• Nice features overall
• Good sound quality
• 256MB internal memory
• FM present
• Stereo speakers

-ve's

• Worst thing about the phone IMO, is no expandable memory
• Camera is bad
• Phone has become too common

SE W700i

+ve's

• Expandable memory with bundled 256MB card and 32 MB internal memory
• FM radio
• Stereo speakers
• Good quality cam, best of all the four we were looking at.
• good feature set
• Very good headphones

-ve's

• Costliest of all (well has to be cos of it's features)
• Doesn't look as good as Moto Razr or SE W500i.
• Candy bar shaped. this was the shape my sister actually wanted to avoid.

Note:- none of phone on the list is a symbian phone. That can be considered as a -ve cos of less apps available for them
