Invalid Sim

hello friends, I have just bought "SE w550i" cellphone & new BSNL prepaid card,
so , when i ON my phone after inserting SIM , it shows "INACTIVE SIM" error massage on the top. There is no problem with the phone, it works well, as I tried other SIM cards of my friends, but with my own new card I cant do any activities like calling or sending SMS. This card works well, when i insert it in NOkia 1600, but at starting moment, it shows error like "massage sending failed:Error no. something like 40081", after that I can call & send SMS through this handset of NOKIA 1600, plz tell me setting if any in the phone and possible cause of this problem. Have u activated the sim after u bought it? If not then activate it or go to any retailer if its prepaid connection and he will activate it for u
