I got the mobile with one minisd card with came pre installed in it is it possible to format that minidsd card if its possible then notify me the software and the procedure to be followed to finish them

hey steel,

try to improve ur english man its very difficult to understand ur english mate.

but still if u want to format any of ur card in n_gage itself u can do mate ..

GO>tools>memory>option>select the (format mem.card) option.......

i hope it will work still not solving ur prob. then do reply clearly mate

this could not solve my problem it doesn't format the mini sd card given by the mobile manufacturer. i think there is a catch in formatting the sd card

if u have memory card reader y don't u try formatting frm computer and don't worry bout the system file u will get it frm me ok .....

go do it

It may happens that a program corrupts the C: drive of your phone. In such case, some data can be lost of course but, more annoying, some applications may not work or work only partially,...

On a Series 60 based phone, two key sequences will allow to restore your phone to a cleaner state:

Normal Reset (*#7780#) : Restores ini files from rom but preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc)

Deep Reset (*#7370#) : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.

In both case, the phone will ask you a confirmation and you will have to enter a security code (12345 by default).

Files and applications stored on E: drive are not be affected by these sequences.

and i tried to format the mini sd card in my card reader but i can't , my comp.recognises as a removable drive and while formatting it gives me " the drive is write protected" message any one...please tell me how t o do it

its not the prob. with the card man just it happens some time u do re-insert the card in card reader ,

it happens with me too but it works when it is re-inserted mate,

or u do in fone by typing the code i have given above

hey actually i got a prob.
when i install the app. (oxford dict) in my fone through the mmc reader everything is fine in my mmc ...............

but when i install this app (first it saves in fone memory )and it takes 1.18 mb and left is bout 1 mb of fone but still it says memory low ????????

wht to do (how much memory ) does this app. need for futher installation ???????????

Sorry for not posting for so long;I had my board exams and was busy studying

Well I found the solution ,if you are still interested:

n-gage does not have enough free memory to decompress the software. so you have to unpack your application and place the contents of the system file it extracts into the systen folder and the one in the documents folder in the documents folder of the memory card

A software I found out is unmakesis

I used it to unpack avantgo and oxford english pro dictionary both are working fine ,though avantgo's installation is a bit complicated you would have no trouble in in installing the dictionary in your phone.

Additionally you would need a a dictionary viewer like msdict to view your dictionary ."Msdict 1.30" is the compatible version for n-gage.

I recommed installing the msdict first from:

ps:I saw what bad_bad_man did in the forum and was shocked. Though i dont post often ,I regularly log on to the forum and am greatly thankful to the forum users for the knowledgeful threads they start

i extracted the sis ..... file now they gave system folder..... with 2 sub-folder..... and inside more .... files ..... now wat to put were .... can u say buddy????

Install MSdict in the normal way using your phone' application manager

and use the unmakesis to extract the files of the dictionary

Then put the contents of the folder it generates in the folder of the same name in th e: drive i.e if the folder generated is "system" then put the contents in E:\system or is the generated folder is "documents" then put all the contents of the documents folder in E:\documents.

Here E:\ is your memory card . I assume you are using a memory card reader to do this.
