A GPRS connection is enough to browse net thru your phone. I've used the Airtel connection for months now.

Firsty you need to install the modem driver for your phone. If its a bluetooth compatible (which it would be) then the XP automatically detects the phone modem.

Next you need to create a new dial up connection with the modem over bluetooth link (or something similar) as your dial up device. For Airtel the phone number to dial is *99#. It ought to be the same number for Hutch too. Password can be left blank for Airtel.

Dial and enjoy!

first thing you have to know that, for EDGE, your service provider should provide you the EDGE feature, u can't use by urself.

i agree with that, but some cases its not. if you are using some Bluetooth dongle, XP won't take the driver automatically. you have to manually install the driver from the CD that provided with BT. i had that exp with N-gage QD.

if you use Nokia PC suite, don't have to create dial-up connection. you can do it from main menu directly. but i preffer to create dial-up where you can increase the connection speed upto 900 kbps [but true fact is that GPRS provides 14.3 kbps without EDGE] as i'm using the GPRS the dial number [airtel] is *99***1#, user name : mobile no pass: [blank]
