sms tone malfunction

i have a nokia 6670
the phone was working fine..infact too good
but suddenly the sms tone seems to have vanished
meaning..if i get any sms..there is not alert tone
i tried changing many settings...profiles..infact i tried everything to my knowledge
but nothing seems to work
what could have possible gone wrong?
would formatting my mobile do any good?

may be u need to get the entire software changed by the NOKIA dealer....
try to back up ur data and format it as a last resort....

Hey even i use a 6670 ... my sms tone also gave me a problem ... but as soon as i choose another file as a tone it started working very well . No Probs at all .

Take it to a authorised Nokia Dealer .

guys i got some weird outcomes
first i backed up my mobile and then formatted it
then the tone was working fine..
then when i restored the backup...
the tone went missing again...
then i back up only messages and contacts
and formatted again..
as of now it is working fine..
but i could not figure out where is the problem...
can anyone guess??
