Samsung Galaxy S2 T-Mobile compatibility

Hi everyone,

My friend is selling me a brand new Samsung Galaxy S2 (T-Mobile) for Rs.22,000/- (apparently his sister hated the phone). I'm aware that it needs to be unlocked first.

After unlocking , will the phone be compatible on Airtel's network? Specifically 3G , as I've heard that T-mobile uses different 3G bands.

Ok , I unlocked the phone and it does work with Airtel , including 3G.

Found a website that provided the code for unlocking the network. They charged me Rs.1000/- approx , a good deal.

Although there is a way to unlock the SGS2 by rooting it and installing a certain application from the market , the T-Mobile SGS2 variant doesn't work with the rooting method.
