SD Tools <> is used to measure the speed of your external memory card. More info below.
Android. If the same app is available on other platforms then do notify me.

With SD Tools you can check your microSD card information (Name, Date, MID, OEMID,...). You can check if your card is fake. (Check serial number and MID and OEMID).
You can also benchmark sd card writing and reading speeds.

  • Capacity
  • Rated speed/Class
  • SD tool result

Speed varies by 1-2 MB/s on multiple run of the same software...

Speed varies around 1-2MB in multiple tests.
Write speed 6MB/a
Read speed 21MB/a

Finally after ShootMe, here are my result:

SA02G | 2GB | Class ? | Read: 13.0 MB/s; Write: 7.1 MB/s
Don't really know what company is SA02G and the class.

^^ So, is it safe to assume that my card is class 6? I am planning to buy larger capacity card (maybe 8 or 16 GB) for my Optimus One, but not sure what class to buy. And I want to buy a card with class >= the current one.

@Sam: Did you get a class 4 card with the Optimus One? Which is giving you write speeds of about 5 MB/s. So is it safe to buy a Class 4 card of capacity 8/16 GB, for my O1 too? (I mean a class 4 or class 6 card will be more appropriate for my Android?)

AFAIK it doesn't matters much. Though ask from Sarath, he had once created a thread for same query, and bought a class 10 card.
