neo v and desire s have same proc and chipset and gpu. but neo v has hdmi and better camera. desire s has more ram and more internal memory. and desire s has very good support in developer community.
galaxy sl is good but gpu wise neo v or desire s are better which can play 720p videos well but as galaxy sl struggles to play 720p mkv movies.
If you want good looking, good camera, good screen and updates go for neo v.
If you want good looking, and modding ur phone go for desire s.
if you want 4inch then go for galaxy sl.
neo v - 15.9k
desire s - 21.4k
galaxy sl - 17k(maybe)

There is a lot of difference in the price of all the three phones.
So if u r not much concerned about the price then you should go for Desire S.Its the best phone among the 3 options listed here and also the best phone according to me in a budget of approx 20k

I think Desire S has battery issues. Be ready to charge it twice a day if you use the phone extensively.

Is this true ?? Although 720p maybe overkill for a 4" screen , sometimes it feels lazy to convert 720p to smaller size , i would like to copy it directly to mobile and watch.

I think you should go with neo V.. SE has already promised Ice Cream Sandwich for it..
whereas Desire S won't get it and I9003 is less likely to get that,,

The LG Optimus 2x costs 19k in letsbuy.com (after using AMEXLB). It is better than any of these (in terms of screen, camera, performance, community support etc...)

I m amazed to see such a price drop,19K for a dual core phone with 8mp Camera is really good. But one thing which bothers is that it is of LG.That is the only thing which stops me from suggesting it to anyone and even I haven't got my hands on this phone so can't say much about it.

Your right. Lg support sucks. Optimus 2x just got gingerbread. Ics update confirmed but you might as well get it by 2013..
Neo battery is on the lower side. But not atrocious.
