Default Dialup using Mobile - Possible ?

.
Forgive me if this is a dumb question . Anyway here it goes

Is it possible to use mobile for dial-up connection ? Like mobile->dialup->bluetooth->PC/Lappy .

Requirement
At present I use Airtel GPRS when I am on the move . I am gettin decent speeds (40/20 k) with GPRS in Kerala , but when I tried it in Karnataka ( Place - Mangalore - any one from that place ? ) the connection was very slow and I had to try a lot time for gettin connected too . So I was thinkin like usin dialup but through mobile if possible . During one trip I met a guy in train who was usin Sony lappy + Nokia communicator , he was tellin me it is possible to use dial-up and hes doin that usin bluetooth . But I didn't understand much .

I know it will not be cheap as GPRS ( like call charges + ISP charges etc ) , still I would like to know whether it is possible

Meantime my phone is Nokia 3230 ( it has a setting for data call - thats any thing related to this ? ) and service provider is Airtel (Kerala)

Thanks in advance
.

yes dialup is possible but it needs modem in your mobile

i ave seen that reliance phone having mobile modem automatically being detected by xp and plug and play being isntalled and it acted as a dialup modem
