Multimedia mobile upto 17 k

I am looking for a mobile and have no technical gyaan. will try to answer the questionnaire to the best of my abilities.

1. Budget?
7k - 17k. lower the better.
2. Display type and size?
touch screen, but if any good qwerty option available can consider
3. Form Factor? bar, slider, flip?
no preference
4. Preferred choice of brand?
no preference
5. Preferred input method (QWERTY, touchscreen, numpad, touch-n-type).
touchscreen, but open for other options as well
6. What camera option you want? Please specify need for flash, autofocus, front facing camera.
i dont have knowledge on camera features, but good camera is a primary requirement.
7. Preferred operating system? (Android, Symbian, iOS, Windows Phone etc).
no preference, but should be fast and bug free.
8. Preferred connectivity options (3G, Wifi etc)Please specify clearly.
i wont be using the phone for internet.
9. Preferred applications (Flash, Swype, GPS, etc)?
should have a good music player
10. Primary use of handset (multimedia, camera, mails, internet, gaming etc)?
music and camera (no internet and gaming at all)
11. Any specific mobile phones in consideration?
may be motorola defy
12. Any other info that you want to share
build quality should be solid, looks should be good and if possible dual sim

i know i have not been too clear in my answers but my knowledge is limited. kindly give your valuable suggestions.

based on your requirments there are tons of mobiles in market. which should we recommend you?
may be make up your mind and stick to one need. i.e. ask around 7k or around 17k. I am sorry if you feel bad about my comment. be more specific.

Its your money so research a bit about os's, smart phones, etc so that you can come to a conclusion of what you need.

and returning to your thread,
if you want to watch movies and play hd games then motorola defy is good for you. strong build, small size, high resolution big screen, good processor, good support(unofficial).its worth every penny at that price. It plays all type of videos without converting(but choppy hd video playback).
there is also xperia mini at 13k which has good hardware, bravia screen but small and at half resolution of defy.
I will not recommend htc wildfire s or salsa or chacha for multimedia purpose.
I dont have that much idea about querty keboard phones.
and dont go for nokia above 10k for multimedia purpose.

have a look on HTC Desire (15.5k at saholic), LG optimus one and of course defy

Btwn Xperia x10 Mini Pro may be the best suited for your needs.. 1 ghz processor, better display+bravia engine.., touch+sliding qwerty+ and since sony.. music quality will be good, and they provide good headsets too

Erricson also released a multimedia phone under walkman series costs around 10k W8 Walkman™ and its also in android

desire has good cpu but basic adreno 200 gpu which you can find on mid to low androids. and as far as user reviews i have read, it has worst battery backup.

desire is a very good phone but the only problem is that its battery back up is not that good.
See one need to compromise on some or the other thing.
like upgrading moto defy to foryo using custom roms will void its warranty and I think if we see spec wise then we don't have any other phone better than Desire in that price bracket.

moto defy is selling with froyo right now. spec wise only processor is better in desire.and you can overclock defy to 1ghz or even 1.2ghz.
I dont want to start *vs* game here now. i just told the facts.
