Smile Help Regarding Lost Phone

Guys ,

Many of you know about cop@vsnl.net ..that is if you lose your mobile phone by giving in the details like

Your name:
Address:
Phone model:
Make:
Last used No.:
E-mail for communication:
Missed date:
IMEI No:

it can be found...

I have a doubt , what does Last used No. mean ? Does it mean the last dialed number before the phone was lost or anything else ? is it compulsory to give that detail ? Will they be calling the last number used , if we give in the number ?

Default Re: Help Regarding Lost Phone

As taken from this site: Cop@vsnl : Lost Mobilephone to recover, IMEI Number | India Summary

Quote:
The email id cop@vsnl.net belongs to Chennai Police. Check this website page Contact Us. The email id cop@vsnl.net is clearly mentioned as that of Chennai police and is no way related to any lost mobile service.

We recommend the readers to report the lost mobile only to the local police station in your area (where you lost the mobile) and register a formal complaint or FIR. Writing IMEI number on this site’s comments or by sending email to cop@vsnl.net will not help as this looks like a hoax.
Some users have suggested that you take a copy of Police complaint and copy of original bill and submit a request to manufacurer (e.g. Nokia or Samsung etc) to block the phone. According to them it works. They advice you to take the signed receipt on the copy of your application. If they do not take the request then go to consumer forum.
