Default Nee help: USB tethering

Hello all,

I am struck with USB tethering.. not working for me,,
i have LG O1 wifi connection. I want to share my wifi connection from mobile to laptop..
wifi disabled on laptop...

i tried this:
1. connected mobile to wifi.
2. connected mobile to laptop using USB.
3. enabled usb tethering
4. disabled wifi on laptop.
5. system tray says LAN2 (Android modem) connected but no internet connection.
6. firefox: can't connect to server.

I have also installed the drivers for O1 when i connected to windows using windows update...

Can anybody help with this ?

I am not sure what you trying to do here. Try this.

If you want to use your mobile network (2G or 3G) for data connection that go to settings -> wireless & network settings -> Tethering & portable hotspots. Here you get an option to enable either USB tether or wifi hot spotting. I prefer wifi hotspotting.

Give your WiFi some name (SSID) and some password (preferably WPA2 PSK). That't it. You don't need any LG suite or anything.

lemme try once more:

I want my laptop to connect to internet through my cell.
I have a wifi connection, but the wlan on my laptop is having some problem. So i can't connect my laptop to wifi. But i can connect my cell to wifi.

Now is ther a way to access the wifi connection of cell on my laptop ?

USB tethering works fine, if I am trying to use my GPRS connection on laptop..

Here the case is:
Wifi AP -> LG O1 -> laptop : NOT working
GPRS -> LG O1 -> laptop: WORKING

I hope i was clear this time..

Sorry mate AFAIK you are out of luck on this one. Any tether will use your mobile data con nection not any other access point.

Try using PDAnet or other free apps which make USB tethering easy...
