dont overcharge
always discharge fully before charging

i agree wid 2 of the three points by expertno.1

as far as 2nd point is concerned:
in case of Li-ion/polymer battries, on a daily basis do not discharge fully before rechargin. but discharge completely once a month.

in case of Ni-MH batteries (i suppose hardly any phone uses them 2de), discharge completely before recharging.
