Just bought an Optimus One, Now what??

Title says it all.
I don't intend to root the mobile for at least next 15 days, since i'm doing a Agent 001 style 30 Days with ..... review. So What are the must have apps I should download.
How do I copy the apps to my pc, so that i can backup them?
Any other suggestions are welcome.

You can use Astro File Manager to back (those apps) up… The backups are saved in SD Card, so you can transfer them to PC using data cable.

^^^ I guess it will. Root is required to uninstall crap-apps, but backin' up apps can be done without root.

i think it won't. can't remember clearly but when i installed a custom rom & it was not rooted, i tried restore some backup apps using titanium backup & everytime i was greeted with a "failed to get root/superuser permission" & then the app either closed or stopped working.

No it will not work.

PS: any root apps will not work for some features. You need root access to open that apps

OK, you both are right! (and that makes me wrong ) Titanium Backup cant be used without Root. So, the choice left is - Astro File Manager.

You need to root your device for that ... and install custom recovery ... if you want the complete backup
