Blackberry query ! ! !

am thinking of moving from nokia to blackberry. Can Blackberry be used like normal phone ? say for a month, i dont wanna use bbm or its service , will the phone work normally ?

Why Blackberry? The built quality is good, but the software is outdated. Totally garbage... and also very expensive...

It can be used for normal voice calls.

It is a mobile phone so expect all features a mobile phone has. But consider other phones too before spending a fortune & moving into BB.

thanx 4 replies .... many of my frds have it so am just forced 2 get it ..... though am an android fan ... like nokia 2 ....... & any good android phone in 25k range ???

HTC Incredible S will cost around 26K
and also HTC Desire HD will cost u d same but Incredible S is a little better than it.
Sony Ericsson will be launching Arc(for approx 28K) and Neo(approx 25K) next month, and they are very good.
According to me these are the best Android phones.

@OP, If your purpose is sending and receiving secured emails then nothing can match BES. Also the keypad for messaging is a dream to type on, and the build quality is great. The major problem of BB is if you don't active BIS then majority of apps won't run. 26k is a great budget and you could easily get good smartphones at that budget which are mentioned on post 7 and 8.
@AmdroidFan- You can't say BB OS garbage. In fact I found it rather good than others

agreed, nothing can beat BB on email. and you guys may not aware of BB messenger service, this service uses BB services to send msgs, so if both party in BB, use BB msg service for sms.

U have said that u r not going to use bb services, if it is then in same budget u could have a very high specd phone. I personally like bb, but it's coz i like bb experience. tell ur all requirements in detail. So suggesting a phone woule be easy and will suit u better

many of my frds have bb ... so am in dual state of mind either 2 buy bb or android phone ... yes u r right @vishurocks, @ithehappy & all, bb is good if fully used .... then y do ppl prefer android phone ?? just for the apps or ....

You still haven't said your purpose! I think you don't need to look what your friends are using, give more care to your own phone.

Android has the biggest App store, so Apps are definitely a plus point, besides an Android phone in an average has more features than a BB, BB is still stuck with Low resolution screen, Camera, incomplete Web browser etc etc..

remove apps & andrid is same as symbian r any other os .... bt bb seems great, used 4 1 day .... accessing mails & other stuff is so cool ....... need 2 try android phone ....

yup, here you discovered the real fact, remove all the apps and just imagine three phones with call & text and email, i would go for BB first, thn symbian thn andriod. never used andriod, seen with ma friends ... apps nothing else, even my symbian gps lock is far better thn andriod

Remove email too and nokia 1100 is a hell of a phone with torchlight and u could always use it to bang ur boss's head with it and what more phone won;'t break but will work as always.

Seriously nowadays a smartphone is nothing without useful apps, now if you don't want apps go for 1100
