This phone is expected in India in a month or two... its priced around $200 USD off contract in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore... Hoping that it will launch in India for less than 15k...

This device runs Froyo (Android 2.2)

It also provides 4GB of internal storage, and includes the usual array of HSPA, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS radios, all powered by a 1500mAh battery.

Not bad. 14 to 15k for a mobile with 800MHz proccy is really good.
Going by Huawei's track record, the phone will probably ship with plain Android without any customization. Moreover support on XDA Forums is also a little less for Huawei models.

Only if Samsung or HTC launches a handset with similar specs.......

but compared to Wildfire S, the specs are better. ok, its Chinese but the build quality is nothing to complain about. DEV support is the last thing that should matter, if the price is right.

Wildfire S will have the old cpu 7227 that has less powerful adreno 200 gpu. but this Ideos x5 has the cpu and gpu of HTC Desire Z (7230 with adreno 205)
