Default Phone for ~9k

I am quite interested in Samsung galaxy pop. But again got confused with Nokia c5-03. Its raging Android vs dying Symbian. What to do?

Samsung Galaxy Pop seems superior in all aspects i agree(android 2.2, 25% bigger battery, autofocus 3.2meg cam)
but the Nokia c5 03 has better 5 MP cam and better res of 640x360@16m colors
and looks better too

check out the comparison here
Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 vs. Nokia C5-03 - GSMArena.com
and official specs
NOKIA C503
SAMSUNG GALAXY POP

frankly any given day i would've chosen the C503 any day
because video playback(and looks) is a big factor (for me)

rest is up to you

^^ Galaxy Pop vs C5-03

Capacitive touchscreen vs resistive touchscreen
Proximity sensor vs no proximity sensor
Autofocus 3.15mp camera vs fixed-focus 5mp camera
Android 2.2 OS vs S60 OS

Now you decide.

And here is a quote from Nokia's former head of design (this might help you in making the right choice)
Quote:
"The engineers at Nokia brag about the number of megapixels a new phone has. But they don't understand that if you can't find the button to use the camera on the phone, it doesn't matter how many megapixels it is."

Yes i agree with you Paul
Samsung Galaxy mini packs much better hardware and software too
and it is a real VFM too

but
my point is the low Resolution of the samsung galaxy's screen
i don't think the OP's experience of android would be good on that miserly res

also not to mention that Android phones generally consume much more power than normal
I have seen high end android phones with all the bells and whistles struggling with battery life(1&1/2 days at full charge)
Whereas similarly specced nokia ones with symbian are good for 4 days at average

About the capacitive vs resistive
i cant really put my opinion here
as i haven't used capacitive touch phones

About the cam
yes you are right about 3.2 meg autofocus being much better than 5 meg fixed
But call this my perception or viewpoint, i feel nokia cam's picture quality to be better than the samsung counterparts

p.s.
i am not a nokia fanboy
i already own 2 samsung phones
and i am not at all happy with them

if OP can live with a low resolution screen, Galaxy Pop is better. else he can go with Nokia, which won't disappoint H/W wise.
