Wave 2 or Defy ?
Budget = 20k or less. Can't expand more. 20k's the limit.
Need = Big ass screen with a nice resolution. OS is not a strict factor.
Also... how is the availability of Motorola Defy ?

Re: Wave 2 or Defy ?
Screen size is same and resolution is almost same (defy excels with just 54 pixels). So go for phone with overall better specs i.e. Wave 2
And defy is available in 18k on flipkart.

Re: Wave 2 or Defy ?
Thanks for your input. Is the Defy available with retailers or at Croma ?

Re: Wave 2 or Defy ?
Os is only factor on which u should make ur decision. Android or bada. If using just multimedia features of the phone and not using third party apps, then choose wave 2 or else get defy. Defy is better overall

Re: Wave 2 or Defy ?
hardware wise Wave II is better and I think bada OS is easier on battery too. If you are okay with not having apps, go with Wave II but do remember that Android is lot more fun and interesting.

Yeah I know about Android and I have been meaning to try it since a long time. I mean I have a used a few of my friend's handsets but that was for like 5 minutes. Anyways, I am gonna go to buy the phone today and if Defy is available with retailers then I'll pick it up. If not then Wave II.

Re: Wave 2 or Defy ?
@NainO
os is a major factor alongside hardware to chose a smartphone. Bada(no app support, boring, browser nothing compared to android). So said that defy is better overall. Just because of os

These two statements contradicts each other.
For those, who don't consider ANDROID as a mandatory factor, bada is just fine.

Re: Wave 2 or Defy ?
I said OS is not a strict factor but if Bada is as bad as everyone's makes it sound than I better get my hands on Defy.

Re: Wave 2 or Defy ?
Go for defy as its well suited for our climatic conditions and also advantage of android , my uncle has wave 8500 its built in pdf reader doesn't even open a 50mb pc magazine whereas my heavily modded zn5 opens it like a charm using mupdf app.

Re: Wave 2 or Defy ?
Well I had a budget of 20k and it was available for 21k and my dad said I can get it. The store didn't sell Moto and I used both N8 and Wave II and found N8 to be better. Did I make a bad choice ? I am sorry but I am a noob with cell phones. The online reviews seem to be good.

Re: Wave 2 or Defy ?
Well 1 and a half days later, this is my short experience :-
Good :-
--> 16GB onboard storage plus MicroSD slot is kickass.
--> Best camera on a phone i have seen.
--> Decent screen. Fluid touch interface.
--> Loundspeaker quality is okay. Earpiece and mic are very clear
--> The build quality is good. Phone looks sexy.
--> On the move USB + HDMI out makes it a great media player
--> Sound quality with headphones is amazing
Bad :-
--> Symbian 3
--> Lack of apps
--> The whole OVI store crap. Why can't I directly download the apps on my PC, put them on my phone and install them ?

Re: Wave 2 or Defy ?
Well frankly, you could have made a better choice... since you could spend around 21k a desire/milestone would have been better. But hey, you liked the N8 more, and its your phone, and that's what matters! enjoy

Re: Wave 2 or Defy ?
No it's not my choice that matters. N8 is actually an inferior phone when compared to Desire or even Wave II. Though the hardware is better than those phones, the software aspect sucks. I made a hasty decision. I hadn't even done my research and as my cell phone knowledge is pretty limited, I should have done great amounts of research. Anyways maybe after I finish my 10th ICSE Board examinations, I'll sell this off and get a Desire or if I get good grades than Desire HD .

Sorry i am new to this.
what could be the problem with this N8? if he gets the necessary everyday applications like office editing, pdf reader, maps, push mail etc and then it has a very nice camera.
other than he searching for new games or apps after few months, what else could go wrong with N8 that will not gonna happen to an android like desire ?

IMO, N8 is better than Desire HD. the battery life and display of Desire HD are below average. Now that you have N8, just wait for release of newer devices like LG Optimus Black, Samsung GalaxyS II and SE Xperia play/neo/arc.

It's the stale and old OS. try android on a phone like desire for a few days and then start using N8, you will understand.
