Default Mobile Number Portability

vodafone is launching MNP tomorrow all over INDIA. anyone wish to avail VODAFONE SERVICE without sacrificing his/her current mobile number(of any operator) can join vodafone family. You only have to give an SMS to 1900 like this :

PORT<space>Mobile No

You will get a code after SMS which will be valid for 15 days. Approach then to any vodafone touchpoint.

SMS charge Re:1/- .+ transfer charge 19/-= 20/-

Applicable for both GSM & CDMA.

Well I'm thinking of moving. Does vodafone have good GPRS/EDGE tariffs? I'm currently on Airtel 98 2GB one.

Ok, their service is not that bad...but reliance gives 1ps/sms, 50ps/min on all calls at rental of Rs.99/mo only. When I went to Vodafone and asked for the same..they couldn't find any plan even remotely near to this...

Im Using Vodafone since 5 years back when it was Hutch. its a lil expensive but the best service provider in the market. with the best customer service... unlike brnds like Airtel, reliance etc.. who sell cheap plans but their support sucks and half the time service wont work...

it is technical term. When you move out from your operator it is port out and when you enter into new operator it is port in

1)just go to SMS option and compose a new sms. the verbiage of the SMS is

PORT<SPACE>YOUR MOBILE NO.

2) SEND IT TO 1900

3) You will get an eightdigit code from 1901 in your mobile. The first letter is operator name and the second letter is the circle. i.e. if you are TATA user form Delhi then the code will be TD......OR Reliance user form Kolkata the code will be RK...... like this. (this code is valid for 15 days only)

4) with this code go to any touchpoint of VODAFONE(STORE/MINISTORE) along with 20 /-

5) Fill up two forms along with photo, POI, POA.(xerox copy of proof of Identity & Address, carry originals too)

6) you will be given a maximum TAT of 7 days.

& you are done.:-P

May be for two hours your mobile number will be non fuctional in the night time(12.00 to 5.00)

pls revert me after successful PORT IN.
