Urgent Query about Nokia C6 and X6

Guys, one of my friends is going to Canada at the end of this month. He has a Nokia C6, and has an option of exchanging it with an X6. I would be obliged if you could tell me whether the C6 (C6-00) will work in Canada, or will he have to switch over to the X6, (he prefers the C6 with its qwerty h/w keypad).
