I got a serial data cable for it for 300 odd bucks,but that was back last year when I had this phone.Got it from a local mobile phone dealer.
Enquire at the local dealers in your area. Even a USB one shoudlnt be more than 500 bucks or so.

yeah a usb data cable (which actually works on serial protocol, coz not all phones support usb sync) costs about rs.300. it usually comes wid a data cd that contains the usb data cable driver and some sync software. also the same usb data cable can be used wid all models of SE phones. you'll get it at ur local dealer. if you goto a SE autorised shop then you'll hafta shell out much more. so i'd recommend ur friendly neighbourhood dealer! works like a charm

Is there anyother way to transfer files to this phone other than MMS and gprs.

The phone lacks both irDA & Bluetooth.You are stuck with no option other than getting a suitable cable for that phone.
