Samsung Galaxy S scores over X10 in:

Display
OS
Multimedia
Storage and memory
Wi-Fi (n with DLNA)
Document Editing
unlocked boot loader and un-encrypted ROM means this phone is among modders favourite phones.

X10 scores in :

UI
camera
build quality

X10 UI is really awesome...
But thanx to a lot of animations it lags a bit. But i think it can be cured with an OS upgrade...
gsmarena confirmed that x10 performance increased after upgrading to android 2.1 eclairs...

And Galaxy S camera is decent. But it still doesnt stand a chance against 8.1MP camera if X10...

But where x10 is recieving eclairs now, Galaxy S is getting "froyo"-fied soon. Performance of SGS is expected to increase two times...
Galaxy S is even faster then x10, if both are compared using eclairs...
Moreover you will get- bluetooth 3, wifi n and SUPER AMOLED SCREEN...

I wud say- Go 4 Galaxy S...

IMO, except for camera, which is pretty good in Galaxy S and possibly looks, there is no other reason why you should go for x10.

X10 afaik has locked bootloader which lends itself harder to root and apply custom ROM's. Plus, no multi touch and 65 k colour limitation even after eclair update. Plus, very delayed froyo update if at all it comes.

Many Galaxy S users could run froyo, much before Samsung released it officially, thanks to the awesome developer community support Galaxy S enjoys. And I have not yet talked about Galaxy S's strong points !!!

Mainly awesome screen, best processor and gpu you can find in a mobile, bluetooth 3,wifi n,4 inch screen etc...

IMO, HTC Desire is a better competitor. hopefully, the x10 successor (x12) won't face a majority of the issues, and run ginger bread
