Default Need help to purchase Android phone

I am looking forward to purchase Android phone :

I have three options to go for :

1. Google Nexus One
2. HTC Desire
3. Samsung Galaxy S

Can you suggest me which one is better in terms of battery usage and performance wise.

Nexus one not available officially in India, but should I go and buy it from Ebay ?

Check the ebay : HERE

Or should I signup for the google developer by paying $25 and then order it from there itself. I am not sure, if the Nexus still available for developers so I am little confused to take this risk.

I personally thought to wait for Desire HD but they always ditch in the releasing dates. Please suggest, my budget can go upto 40k.

No iPhone please, I already have 3g model and I want to try android.

Xperia 10, not at all.

Xperia 10 : Not sure when they gonna update it to 2.1 or froyo.
OS Android OS 1.6
Type TFT capacitive touchscreen, 65K colors

Desire :
AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors- SLCD in India I guess.

Galaxy S:
Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors

There is no comparison btw these touchscreens with Xperia.

^^ if you can afford Galaxy S, why are you running after "now discontinued" Nexus One & HTC Desire?

Lets not start the Galaxy S vs. HTC Desire fight again. There's enough said and done. I think galaxy s and HTC Desire both are highly capable devices. The only downside I see to the Galaxy S is the TouchWiz Interface and the delay in providing updates.

For example HTC Desire got upgraded to Android 2.2 nearly a month ago and Galaxy S has not even announced it yet. From the display point of view there have been several arguments on AMOLED vs. SLCD. Each display has its own positives and negatives. But each of them are highly capable display technologies.

Samsung Hummingbird processor is arguably faster than HTC Desire though I wouldnt agree to that because recently there were some articles on flawed benchmarking tests carried out by Samsung.

In the end, the price of Galaxy S and HTC Desire are comparable, I would say it all boils down to the interface and software updates and the look and feel of the phone. I own an HTC Desire because I hate the look of the Galaxy S and its interface.

And please, dont even think about Xperia X10. Its not even a contender.

Galaxy S not available , went to 2-3 shops today and they told me that its outta stock. Even the shopkeeper recommended to wait as Samsung is going to release a new segment series soon ? It that true ?

@Sam.Shab Personally, I like the finish of Nexus one a lot but when I hold the dummy of Samsung Galaxy S today, it looks great too and budget can go upto 40k but I need the best outta Android.

I am novice and trying to get hands on Android OS and only these three phones are holding the top bracket. Can you tell me about Desire HD ? Do you know the releasing date ?

Thanks again.

If your budget is 40k then I would rather suggest you wait. Desire HD has been launched in the Middle East and it will soon find its way to India. Probably by November end or December if you can wait that long...

I can wait . I am satisfied with my current iPhone. Can you post some tutorials and websites where I can gain some knowledge about Android OS.

I think I should learn more about android in the meantime. I am also thinking to purchase Galaxy 3 to get a taste of android OS till the desire HD is available.
