Macbookpro charger converter for european to Indian sockets?

Hey .Im buying a macbook pro 13 from europe.I suddenly realized that the sockets they have there are different from India.
Can i buy a charger from india and not use a converter?
are converters available in india?
Will there be any problem from voltage surges?

yes, u will get the converter in any hardware store for Rs 25 or so. u can also get an extension for about Rs 150

^^^yes...with an ipod touch rebate and printer rebate!! But is voltage conversion necessary? Or will an ordinary adapter work?

i hope u know that the ipod touch rebate is not a cash rebate but a coupon that enables u to buy another apple product in the near future.

m using a a regular conversion for the past 1 year.
