i am thinking to purchase iphone from US can it be use-able in india in any mobile network
pls suggest........

Yes it can be. It needs to be cracked before it can be used. Also remember if u seeing that the price of Iphone in US is 99$ then it comes along with a contract of 2 yrs of mobile connection.

So check the phone without any connection when u are buying that

actually it does make lot of sense. iphone 3GS that is being sold in USA is lot lot better than the stale iphone 3G. it has got lot better hardware.

@OP, unless that phone comes with 3.1.3 firmware, you can easily unlock the phone and use it with any GSM n/w in India. 3.1.3 blocks all such hacks and unlock hack for 3.1.3 is yet to come out.

Buy factory unlocked rather than jail broken and unlocked, then you don't have to worry about firmware versions and upgrades.
