Which is better OS to take thesedays
I am planning to buy a new phone soon and am stuck with one thing. Which brand to take and which OS to take as well.
I am very keen for a touch screen phone with good features and thought of taking HTC phone like magic or tattoo. But now comes the OS. Which one is better:
1. Android
2. Windows
3. Windows 7 (dont know if it is launched but saw its features and its cool)
4. Symbian ^3 (again saw some featues and its was cool dont know abt its availability)
or there are others if any
What do you guys suggest and recommend. Pls do give reasons for the same as well.

better go with symbian, becoz many applications are available for this OS compared to others.
windows is vulnerable to attacks!.

Re: Which is better OS to take thesedays
Android is cool but needs external application to do each thing HTC sense UI is good
Windows 6.5 with HTC UI is good/ custom ROM can make it work real good
Windows 7 will take time
Symbian 3 looks cool but no mobile available right now

Re: Which is better OS to take thesedays
don't wait for windows 7 mobile, it can take 1-2 years to reach India.
if you can manage to purchase from US, it will be available by end of 2010.

It's the combination of h/w and s/w that makes a phone worthy. What's your budget?

Re: Which is better OS to take thesedays
If strictly inside 17k,
business phone: Nokia E71 (a proven and rock solid phone)
Touch phone : Samsung Galaxy I7500 (android) for 16k
Touch phone with music as priority: Nokia 5800XM 13k-14k (symbian S60 V5)
Non-Touch music phone: SE Yari for 12.5k-13k (SE UIQ)
Non-Touch Camera phone: Nokia N79 for 12.5k-13.5k (Symbian S60)
Two models that you can also consider at a higher budget:
Nokia N97 Mini: 22k-23k (symbian S60 V5)
HTC Hero: 22k-23.5k (my favourite, Android)

Re: Which is better OS to take thesedays
if you're buying phone <20K , stick to symbian . both android and winmo runs slow on cheap hardware .
Otherwise i too like android 2.x

Re: Which is better OS to take thesedays
symbian is the past, Android n windows mobile 7 are the future. HTC has some really wonderful andriod phones, HTS sense UI is one kickass addition. Hero is available in India and its a good alternative to iPhone.

Re: Which is better OS to take thesedays
Higher OS' like WM6.5 and Android are hard on poor hardware. I'd say up your budget for a good phone if you want something on WM 6.5/Android.

Re: Which is better OS to take thesedays
Presently I'm using almost all OS based mobiles(except maemo),In my personal opinion,my favourites are:
1.iPhone (MacOs)
2.Windows Mobile
3.Symbian
4.Blackberry
5.Android &
6.Palm OS
Choice and taste may vary from person to person, but overall iPhone suits most people.
Bada OS and Maemo need further evaluation.
