Need Solution-Trouble with my Extnl 160GB Hdd

Dear pals,
well let me qoute something personal first, that,
as i have moved tons of datas from my Lap to a brand new Samsung 160GB HDD, whn my lap efected a virus attack. that was before 2 months. an after that, so many times i have updated by transfering more datas to it, to make my Lap Hdd more free space. i am using Enclosure to connect Ext Hdd.i dont know what happnd

this is the issue
from yesterday onwards, whn i am to connect my 160GB to Lap, it cant, but i have tried this enclosure with my another 80GB, no trouble with that. this 160GB i want to connect, ho ho, while putting on, i can hear the sound of the disk rotation, inside the HDD. what may be the touble??

really, so hardly, i need to get this HDD to open files.
please be kind enough to guide me in this regarding, and i a quite sure that, from here i will get guidance

Did you try from Linux?

Try your HDD with your friends PC,
If your data is more private, try booting with a linux distro (Linux Mint 7 live, highly recommended) and check!
