Hmm... from experience with my grandpa, senior citizens love large comfortable to press keys (N3110C is an example) and prefer simplistic user interface.
Even if you get that 5030 XpressRadio phone, ensure that its keys are comfortable first.
Then change the default grid view to the list view where ONE item comes at a time needing you to press the down key to see more. The default (and only) view of phones like 1100, 1202, 1203, etc.
And use wikipedia to look up available FM radio stations in your state and preconfigure them in numerical order of frequencies.
