Purchasing cell phone from 'The Mobile Store'
Hi all,
I am thinking of purchasing N79, I want TV Out in it, so I asked many local dealers and NPDs, they all said that N79 now does not comes with TV Out and wont be coming in future.
I asked at 'The Mobile Store' too but they said that N79 comes with TV Out and they have it.....
Now I am in doubt, should I go for it and purchase from 'The Mobile Store' or believe in NPD guys????
I have heard that phones at 'The Mobile Store' are always from old stock and are of seconds(slightly defective)...!!!!
Or should I go for another phone having similar features???

I had purchased from the mobile store...no problems...and if u really want tv out in n79 then u have to get the old stock...what else choice do u have..
Else get from newer stock without tv-out simple

Re: Purchasing cell phone from 'The Mobile Store'
Actually am very impressed with N79, it has all the features one can demand from a phone and I personally like physical keyboard rather than touch screen only exception if the phone does have both then I'll go for it.
Purchasing from old stock or purchasing cable is no problem.
Could you please suggest me aalternative phone?
I would like to have good camera, good sound quality, huge sms memory(sadly no other phone other than Nokia have this), wifi/wlan, GPS, FM(and if possible Transmitter too) and the last but not the least eye candiness, in my phone (price-upto 15,000 INR).....

Re: Purchasing cell phone from 'The Mobile Store'
Thanks for suggestions.
Today i checked at mobile store,on inserting cable in the phone the option for TVO-ut popped up,but they did not demonstrated that this function actually works or its just the option where the function has already been disabled or removed on hardware level.

Re: Purchasing cell phone from 'The Mobile Store'
In my brother's 5800 the tv out option pops out when i plug the tv out cable and it even shows an tv icon in top right corner , but the feature actually dont work. So you better be sure.
But if your phone have tv out cable in box then most likely this option would be enabled.

Re: Purchasing cell phone from 'The Mobile Store'
I m not sure if the tv-out feature is operational or not. Coz, as Tamoghno said, a tv-out cable has not been included in the package. I haven't got one in mine. But the option surely does pop out when u insert a cable (even the headphone cable). But, they have mentioned about the feature in the Users Guide, a proper procedure to connect the device to the tv.
So, abhi-abhi, please check for the feature & update this thread.

Re: Purchasing cell phone from 'The Mobile Store'
Hi all and sorry for late reply,
thanks,
so finally after lots of searching I found N79 but had to purchase cable separately.
Its a really good phone, good VFM, apart from few flaws, glitches and problems.
Also I would like to ask my phone is mfd in Oct 09 n comes with firmware V 11..... but Nokia India's site says "Latest software release for Nokia N79 is 31.002 *" although when i enter my product code at the site in 'Can I update' I get reply that the latest version for my phone is 11.....?????confusing!!!!
