Lenovo G550-29582TQ vs Dell Inspiron 15 ..which is best

Which is best among these two laptops. They are coming more or less at same price ..35k...Config is also similar...

Lenevo Config --> Lenovo - Notebook computers - Lenovo 3000 G Series

Dell config --->
Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop Details

Can you please suggest...which one should I buy ? (My elder bro has already Dell Inspiron 15)

Dell has a 2.2GHz proccy as opposed to 2.1 by lenovo. Dell has Windows 7 as opposed to lenovo's vista. Rest is pretty much the same. Buy either, doesn't make much more than a 1000 rupee difference.

well vista vs win7 doesnt make a diff as i love xp and will install xp on either..how abt comparison on build quality etc ?

The Lenovo that I have used was sturdy, but looked like a slate and was completely rectangular. I dunno about today's design , but that was what I had used, a rectangular laptop. Also, the closing mechanism is a bit weird with a suitcase like lock the folded notebook in place. Dell looks sleeker, is as sturdy and has no latch locking mechanism in place. You can't trust the DVD writer in either as both failed after a year or so for my friends. I would go for the Dell, but Lenovo is by no means a bad performer.

i bought leneovo same model...it didnt cost 35 k but costed 30.5k...its pretty good, although cant say much as it is only 1 month old...

I have seen my cousin's Dell Inspiron 15 and this one too is a bit bulky but very strong. The difference comes when you try the keypad and trackpad. Dell's keyboard and trackpad are pretty good and Lenovo thinkpad's is second to none. If this G series has the same keyboard, go for it.

Thanks ..I have bought Acer 5536 from Croma...for 31k with 10 free gifts..

I chose Acer over others as I had Acer Aspire 5500 for 3 yrs plus config was good ..second KB is very stylish and laptop looks kewl enough

Lenevo was 32.5 k widout any OS and drivers

Dell was bulky and my bro had already it..cost was 36k

So happy wid Acer

tHANKS KROW..free gifts with croma are usual ones like USB light, Free KB protector,CD Lens cleaner, Memory card reader, one laptop couch bag, one CD carrying case , one mouse, one mouse pad etc

PS: I just messed my new lappu by formatting win piss-ta widout making recovery disk and my winxp CD is not wrkng due to scratches..hoping to install xp frm some other source in evening

^ Have a similar mdel ... Tried to back up the Windows Hope Premium bu every time i try to create back up disc , it fails ... thats the only stupid thing bout my acer 5536 ... love the rest ... Hope my Os doesnt screw up till i can get my hands on a copy of Windows 7

dont create back up disc..win vista sucks..i have jus installed xp by the usual way ..it rocks !!! only -ve thing abt acer is battery life (abt 1:30 hrs only) ..rest is good !
