Mobile software upgrade !!

Hi, i have a china mobile....
i want to upgrade its software so that i can install applications in it.
is it possible ??
if yes, how can i do it ?

i really doubt u can do something like that ... maybe if u be more specific and give the model number , maybe u might get help from ppl
