One thing thats really good about Apple is that they manage to attract huge companies (take for e.g Johnson & Johnson). Their business is just too good (not for customers). They know how to make money out of lifeless stones too!

The best thing I liked about the new SDK was the set of new APIs which allows seamless communication with external devices. The global search in 3.0 is a welcome addition and of corz the company managed Push service (only time will tell how scalable it is!).

ok i don't want to argue.. but just want to say.. gh if any one is saying about some product then i would suggest that have a hand on it, use it and then if you feel it was a nightmare then start to criticize it. I have always used most of the high end phones but my journey with iphone 3G is also really good. U just need to be geek enough to take the juice out.

Ya totally agree that apple should have provided these feature at the beginning. but think at the other end. This Mac OS X was not made for mobile. It was customized for mobile. Compare to other OS like Symbian,Windows ME or the blackberry. They are in this field for so long time. Also apple want to make real business with the app store thing.So missing features means dev has chance for new apps and apple has chance for more money That's a business strategy similar to nokia who never gives all features in any single mobile.

^^FYI, I, for once tested iphone 3G as I thought of having a business class phone but it totally totally didn't justify it's price tag. Few touch gimmicks doesn't make a phone no.1. As we said lot of times, this thing didn't have most basic features that a 5k nokia/motorola phone have. That, my friend, makes it a NO GO for those who want a complete phone.

HTC Touch Diamond is available for 20k and iphone that costs 14k more is nothing before this one.

I think even the 13k E61i beats iphone when it comes to smartphone functionality.

And FYI, Airtel/Vodafone do not perform repairs in case of hardware issues! iPhone(first-gen in particular) is so popular in India, that you can get your iPhone repaired in your neighborhood mobile repairwala for a few hundred bucks in most cases!

And my friend I hope you realize the subtle difference between "price being a criteria" and "price being the only criteria"

aaah. first gen iphone?? With no official support from Apple, take it off. There is no point in considering it as option.

When tehre are ten's of phones in sub 15k category that does lot more than what iphone at 30k+ does, yes, price certainly will be the criteria.

FYI, imav was asked to pay around 5k just to replace faulty home button on his iphone 3G. yes, they do undertake repairs.

Totally agree buddy.. And truly speaking i used to me one of those negative minded and really dint like Iphone. what made me take iphone was its touch screen and appealing screen size. But once i took it and after few days when i started to get through it i felt i should have taken this long before.
Truth is

Browsing experience is awsome.
Email experience also awesome. Am so addicted to it now. And the ipod with those visual album art. Dude people just fight to have a look at it. Its so pleasing

2nd camera. Read the news, 3G is up in India. Few more weeks/month and you will be running to counter for 3G activatino.
