I know someone, or rather, lotsa people have asked this in the past...but I would like to reiterate my question - what is the most affordable mobile phone in the market with enough features to satisfy the intermediate geek but affordable enough to attract just about anyone?

Hey how abt N72 @ Rs.7500 ....Symbian 8.1 OS (Got good room for experiment)
and picture quality and sound quality is good too..

The only disadvantage is its slow.

I've got an N72 and its got a lot of disadvantages over 5320. And since the latter is hacked there is equal room for experiment, also its got more applications and n-gage. Its more than worth the extra 2k
