My handset is dead, so I am out buying some new handset, but upcoming 3G tech. must be considered as a feature in that handset.
Before reading this thread be ready for some head-banging, coz that's what I've been doing since last couple of days.
First off, I want to make sure what would be the operating band AND freq. of 3G. which one of WCDMA / UMTS / HSDPA and what freq.? I don't know anything about this, so plz forgive if its some stupid question.
But I know that HSDPA is an software upgrade to UMTS, so HSDPA gives speeds like 3.6 Mbps while UMTS is 368 kbps max.(from what I've read somewhere)
Many guys have been spamming blogs like "3G in India". I say #$%@ them! First consider which phones are operatable and what freq and band is req. for 3G operation. I shouldn't be buying a 3G model and find later that it is not compatible with the operator/band/frequency..
The best phone that I should be buying would be {3.2 MP Camera + HSDPA} and design MUST be clamshell(bar), not slider. But the most interesting part is:
* Sony Ericsson's G502 has HSDPA and 2.0 MP camera, which is 1.2 MegaPixel lesser than my above expectation and costs just Rs.8500 (I am willing to pay Rs.3000 extra for that additional 1.2 MP)
*Nokia N73 has big screen and 3.2 Camera but lacks HSDPA, costs ~Rs.11000

I have been searching everywhere to find some phone between these two, but have been unsuccessful to find a good match with my budget upto Rs. 11500. There must be some phone coz these both are in my budget.
Suggest me a phone if you know one that matches with my req., or select one from below, OR suggest mobile companies to make that #$%^ing phone
