Try the fly b700 duo. It is a decent handset for its price. Price was 7.2k around 4-5 months back. Haven't heard of micromax. Samsung does not have dual sim at this price range as far as I know. D880 or something like that costs above 12k

HI...

I am planing to buy a feature rich phone for abt (or less than) 5k..... By saying feature rich, I mean the technical features.... Like preferably a linux or Windows mobile phone, with full programming capability etc. I am not really looking for a great camera or an excellent music player...!! (I have seperate devices for it..) i am looking for a laptop replacement here (Yes... 5k is too low for that.... But..) This was why I thought, I wud go in for these Hong Kong based mobiles that come really cheap... Does it mean the quality also is cheap??? Are they fit for rugged use??? How about the Motorola Z4, which is a linux mobile for 5.3k??? Y aint there m any takers for this good a mobile in the market!!???

You can look at Motorola Q8 which is a windows mobile available for rs.5500 from Univercell. If you need just a windows mobile then its the cheapest option.

Cons: old model and no 3G, wifi

Great model!!!! Its really a steal for just 5500/- No wifi.. Not a prob... I should not expect one for 5500.....

Old model?? I have not seen this model at all!!! How come a model released which is this good hasnt been famous in 3 years??

Also, could I get a linux mobile for a chaper rate?? Preferably a dual sim one... 5500 is alright tough!!! Am very interested abt this one...

for 3g to properly come , it will take atleast 6-8 months more ... plus its going to be expensive .... 3g means faster speed ... so u can opt for faster internet on ur fone + be able to make video calls and stuff ... i'm pretty sure u can like without thm ... so no issues even if the fone aint 3g ... (i have a 3g fone but even when 3g becomes available , i'm not going to take it)

Ya.. But, that is just a dual sim mobile... Doesn't satisfy many of my other requirements!!

Hoe abt. going in for the alteration that ppl. make to accomodate another extra sim? Is it safe to do that especially on a PDA sort of mobile....

Cool.. Thanks for the posts... I think I'll go for the moto Q8 as suggested by one of the members. I could manage somehow with no dual sim, but for a Windows mobile for 5.5k, I can surely compromise on this..

If you have any cons about the mobile, like battery life (which moto is famous for!!), durability etc. please do update me about the same....
